Wild Republic : Cotton Top Tamarin

Meet Vidal™. His nickname, of Hispanic origin, means "lively." Vidal is quite lively. In fact, he’s a bit off-the-wall (and off-the-tree). He looks wild, acts wild, and just plain is wild! Some of the other animals think he goes too far with his crazy antics and goofing around. Others say that they wish they could be more like Vidal. But as they say in many Hispanic countries, "Between the speaking and the doing there's a lot."
Vidal is a cotton-top tamarin. This little primate is best known for its clump of wild white hair on the top of its head.

Cotton-top tamarins live in trees. To get moisture, this creature licks leaves that are wet with rain, rather than descend to the forest floor and risk attack.

Strangely, when cotton-top tamarins have babies, they almost always have twins.

The cotton-top tamarin is found only in tropical forest edges and secondary forests of northern Colombia. If you meet one, have a wild time.
