Meet ZI™. Her name, pronounced
DZAY, means “beautiful” in Mandarin. But don’t be fooled. She’s not just another pretty face. She’s also very smart. In fact, the elders often ask her advice on important monkey matters.
As they say in China, “He who asks is a fool for a minute, but he who does not ask is a fool forever.”
Zi is a white handed gibbon. Gibbons are the smallest and most agile of the apes. They spend much of their time in the trees. No wonder. Gibbons have very long arms, which they use to swing from branch to branch. This makes traveling through dense forests much easier.
Gibbons are found in southern China, Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Sumatra - and your home!
