This large enrichment device requires the Orangutan to lift any one of three tube covers to access treat inside.
This heavy-duty treat dispenser is designed for large non-human primates like orangutans, gorillas, langurs, gibbons, and chimpanzees. The feeder is loaded with biscuits, nuts, fruits, and other treats. NHPs are cognitively challenged to figure out how to manipulate the treat out of the feeder. Keeping primates mentally stimulated prevents stereotypic behavior. Food-based puzzles are an effective primate enrichment method that alleviates boredom and improves mental wellbeing. The Treat Dispenser attaches to enclosures with the Universal OES Bracket. The bracket makes it easy to insert a variety of enrichment products, like the Mirror/Activity Panel and Slide Feeder. Notches in the dispenser frame allow for spacing adjustments in the OES bracket. The Treat Dispenser provides environmental enrichment in any NHP enclosure including laboratory settings, veterinary enclosures, and zoo habitats. It is a favorite primate enrichment product with curious monkeys and apes, including tamarins, capuchins, marmosets, macaques, langurs, orangutans, gibbons, and chimpanzees. All OES components are autoclavable making it easy to maintain hygiene and IACUC standards in laboratory settings.
